Oryx Fibre Infrastructure is the owner and developer of Layer 1 fibre infrastructure in Namibia which extends into a Layer 2 active service offering. The Oryx Fibre’s infrastructure enables both licensed service providers and strategic enterprises in Namibia to make use of high-speed bulk fibre and backhaul data and IPT services to supply their customers’ needs.

The introduction of the new Equiano cable to Namibia, Swakopmund in August 2022, resulted in a 15 times increase in international connectivity capacity to Namibia.

However, the National backbone network and the Middle-mile, between the landing stations and the various data centres which links the last mile network, is the challenge in the Namibian connectivity landscape.

Oryx Fibre bridge and enables the crucial Middle-mile ISPs require to reach the landing station to deliver IPT to their clients and ISPs need the Long-haul backbone & Middle-mile to connect the last mile to the data centers.
